A large UK insurance group wanted to update and modernise offices in their satellite building in Chelmsford, Essex.  New proposals for this 4-storey building had to significantly upgrade the very tired, existing interiors and also take on board the structural changes afoot within the company.

The scheme required open-plan offices accommodating 250 desks. Ancillary spaces included Meeting Rooms, Break-out spaces and a Café area with a new ground floor Reception serving the whole building. Internal spaces were re-modelled to create a much-enhanced working environment with new lighting and ventilation bringing environmental services up to standard. The colours of finishes and furniture were carefully selected to distinguish communal areas and to suggest company branding. In the Break-out area, staff can now enjoy coffee and lunches in a new bright and cheerful space in which a jazzy ceiling and new furnishings enliven the café environment.

The Reception Area was completely stripped out and replaced with a sophisticated, modern interior in cool greys and blues. A lovely tiled wall with subtle geometric patterns forms the backdrop to the main desk where office workers and visitors are welcomed into the building.
