Master planning is a key component of the work carried out by Studio 4.

This work includes detailed Estate Control Plans, identifying key issues with current infrastructure, to Development Control Plans for future reorganisation of a hospital campus. In addition we provide strategies for the future planning of clinical and support facilities over what can be significant timescales.

As a result our expertise in this field has led us to be employed as Consultant Architects by other leading Architectural Practices.

At Studio 4 Design we recognise our responsibilities with respect to the environment. Careful consideration is given to the impact of building in an increasingly fragile world. We introduce sustainable strategies early in the design process. Studio 4 aim to develop buildings which interact sensitively with their surroundings. We strive to specify materials which have low embodied energy, are resource efficient and enhance the natural environment.

Studio 4 Design work with BREEAM and SKA to measure the sustainability of design, construction and operation of building projects.

Within the office, Studio 4 Design implements an environmental management system which complies with ISO14001:2004.
